History & Milestones

Today, ARO’s advanced filtration systems are used in the watchmaking industry, luxury goods manufacturing, as well as in the medical and automotive sectors.

2022

In 2022, ARO TECHNOLOGIES AG celebrated its 50th anniversary as a joint-stock company. The company’s owner, Hans Ulrich Ammann – a brilliant inventor and driver of innovation – remains actively involved in the business and is often present on-site, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.

ARO TECHNOLOGIES AG continues to demonstrate its innovative strength with the development of a completely maintenance-free and process-reliable level sensor, as well as an extremely compact high-performance filter with an integrated, patented chip removal system.

1998

In 1998, the company was renamed ARO TECHNOLOGIES AG. Since then, the product portfolio has continuously expanded

The focus has always been on optimizing filtration systems. New systems have been developed and brought to market that meet the highest standards of purity. Today, these high-quality and advanced products are used worldwide by leading machine tool manufacturers and end users.

1978

In 1978, ARO AG acquired a new facility with generous land reserves and relocated to Weststrasse 69 in Langenthal. The need for more production space quickly became apparent – by 1989, an 1800 m² extension had already been completed.

The company had placed a strong focus on industrial filtration systems early on. Demand for these technologically evolving systems continued to rise, and space in Roggwil became limited.

1972

The third generation took over the company. In 1972, Hans Ulrich Ammann, a graduate engineer from ETH Zurich, transformed the family business into the joint-stock company ARO AG and led it from a former locksmith workshop into a successful mechanical engineering and engineering services enterprise.

The locksmith business grew steadily, expanding its activities and gaining a strong foothold in the market.

1924

Those were the days! Over a hundred years ago, in 1924, master locksmith Walter Ammann laid the foundation for the family business in Roggwil: Ammann ROggwil – and just like that, the company name ARO was born. At the time, the metal workshop produced a wide range of products – including garden tools and combination cookers.
