Filter papers are generally available in single-layer and multi-layer types. Multi-layer papers offer a higher dirt-holding capacity and can reduce paper consumption by up to 50%. With fleeces made of open-pore solidified polypropylene fibers, oils with viscosities of up to 30 mm²/s can be filtered to a particle size of <20 μm – using gravity alone.
